The AGH is pleased to have Paul Lisson, local poet and co-editor of Hamilton Arts & Letters magazine, kick off National Poetry Month.
“A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside us.” –Franz Kafka
Poems from Lisson’s book The Perfect Archive sparked creative responses from actor Simon Richards, musician and composer Dusty Micale, as well as visual artist Harold Klunder.
This Zoom event will present these response works along with a reading by Lisson himself.

What is missing from the AGH now? What should the Gallery be in the future? This session was moderated by Gail Lord, President of Lord Cultural Resources.

A reading from Paul Lisson’s new collection of poetry, The Perfect Archive: an exploration in poems of how documents and information can, have been, and continue to be manipulated to tell or erase events that occurred or are occurring. Paul Lisson acknowledges the generous support of the League of Canadian Poets, and the Canada Council for the Arts.
A presentation by Ashley Marshall about her photopoetic project Home X Work, where she revisits Hamilton, walking to explore themes such as home, distance, and return.
